Role of the ADY Consultant:

Provide Alcohol and Drug expertise to Child Protection and Placement and Support funded Community Service agencies through:

Secondary consultation in relation to Alcohol and Drug issues

• Risk management (physical, social, psychological risk)
• Behavioural management (intoxication, violence and abuse)
• Clinical management (assessment, withdrawal and counselling)

Education and Training

• Medication, harm minimization, blood borne viruses, alcohol and other drug education

Supervision (workers)

• Case studies, scenarios, case planning

Service system navigation

• Access to drug treatment service system

Referrals taken from

• Nominated manager in each service
• Child protection
