What is a playgroup?

A playgroup is a group of parents or carers who meet weekly with their babies, toddlers or pre-schoolers. Playgroups are about children having fun and learning through play, while the parent/carer makes new friends and shares experiences.

At playgroup your child will have the opportunity to

  • Learn to socialise with other children
  • Explore a new environment with different experiences

What happens with Playgroup?

The playgroup will provide a program of play activities, which are appropriate for your child
  • These activities will assist in your child's development
  • Parents will stay with their child and with the support of the playgroup worker will be invited to suggest or contribute to the setting up of these activities
