Laurence Alvis is the Executive Director, UnitingCare Moreland Hall, a specialist alcohol and other drug treatment and education service, auspiced by the Uniting Church and based in metropolitan Melbourne, Australia.

Laurence holds a bachelor degree in Economics and a graduate diploma in Human Services Administration, and has completed a Masters in Policy & Human Services.

Laurence has over twenty years in various positions in the Community Services sector in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

The majority of that time has been in a local government setting, but he commenced his career in the Community Services sector in 1982 at UnitingCare Broadmeadows, where he set up and operated the inaugural Financial Counselling service.

Laurence had 19 years at Broadmeadows/Hume City Council, where he undertook roles as Aged Services Development Officer, Manager Aged & Disability Services, Manager Client Services, Manager Community Support and the Manager Community Services.
